INTRAMS 2006: A MOMENTOUS EVENT

Finally the much awaited 3-day local intramurals of UP High was formally opened on November 00, 2006 at the UP High open court. The students, teachers and the other staff started off with the parade from the UP ground to Barangay Lahug and back to the campus and were then followed by an invocation done by the Glee Club(in which I am a member) to grace us with the blessings of the Lord.

The atmosphere was filled with shouts of laughter and cheers as the program started with the lighting of the torch done by representatives of each year level.

Students, including me were excited and at the same time were nervous for the cheer dance competition. The excitement became more intense as the contestants of the Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2006 took their place in their ground. The contest was hosted by our beloved English teacher, Mr. Elmer Montejo. Ms. Lou Ernestine Lariosa was our representative for the muse and Mr. George Manapao Jr. for the escort. Ate Mariel and kuya Percy won the contest.

The Freshies were the last one to present the cheer dance. And at least we won as 3rd placer.

After the program, the students also participated in different sport games, others were cheering for their fellow batch mates. Also, the booths became active with life especially the Jail Booth of IV- Tan, where I was captured because of my earrings.

In the afternoon, I was nervous for our softball game. We went to the softball field, where it was extremely hot. Unfortunately we loose in the game. But it’s alright, we still have another chance next intramurals.

In the next day, since I don’t have any game anymore I was in the Gotcha Booth. I was sitting in the table together with the other Freshies, everywhere I look I can see and hear the ear deafening campus cheers, the eye catching banners, the thrill and the showdown of audience in every game. When suddenly, my crush came to me and we bought Mr. Softy.

The fun lasted until Thursday, November 00, 2006. The Musical and Dance competition was held in the Conference Hall. All of us enjoyed, especially during the duet of Leegee and Rosa. Many were amazed because of their golden voices.

The Seniors were the winners in the Intramurals 2006, followed by the Juniors, Sophies and the Freshies.

When we went back in the high school campus, everybody were excited for the “Athletes Night”. Everybody were preparing. And when 6 o’clock came, all of us started to eat. There was a band with this handsome guitarist. The winners of the raffle ticket were also announced. But unfortunately, nobody won from the Freshies.

It was also a great night for me since I met a new friend named “Girlie”. She was invited by some of my classmates who studied before in Lahug Elementary School. I enjoyed playing together with Rheena, Girlie, AnnRey and her little sister.

During also this night I arrived home very late (almost 12:30 A.M).
