CHANGES: GOOD OR BAD?????

I think, almost none of teenagers today is familiar with the Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning Act or about those concerning the legalization of abortion or divorce in the Philippines. And the issue on pre-marital se, I think all of you are familiar with that. Unsurprisingly, these issues are of lesser impact nowadays than before. The Philippines and other Asian countries served the west as the model of modernization.

But, what about the Catholic Church? You and I will think that a big NO will be upheld. The church, whose voice is crying out for life and morality, will be placed in a bad light. The church, as some people might say, is the cause of the stagnation of economic development, so they would insist on following the way that western countries have taken so as to attain a higher standard of living.

But what is really behind the constant conservative approach of the Christian Church for all the people especially the teenagers? Come to think of it: We are the Christian Capital of Asia, but still the Philippines is one of the most corrupt countries in the east. These are two facts that contradict each other. But why there is a need to oppose abortion, or compulsory family planning and “responsible parenthood?” It is because our God is the God of life, that’s why we should not steal…

Sex is a situation of a teenage generation

It is easy for a guy to push a

And ruin her reputation while sick in education

Very often, I do hear my classmates and friends share their intimate experiences and treasured memories with their boyfriends as early as their elementary years! But in our generation this is not new to our ears anymore. How many pregnant girls have lost their education or eventually their future due to misguided sexual desires? How many families who are sacrificing were broken by distrust and disappointment? How many more lives of innocent angels will be at risk from abortion due to unwanted pregnancies? Do all of us still care? Or has this attitude become a trend in our society? For some, it might, still be an issue but for others, it doesn’t matter.

Why do we have to follow what’s hot and cool in the west? To think, the fact that we have our own unique culture make a lot of countries admire us so much. Changes and developments are good as long as they don’t go beyond the limitations.
