HOMOSEXUALITY

Homosexuality is to exchange or abandon natural relation of sex, or in other words, it is a relationship between two persons with the same sex. Homosexuality was as widespread in Paul’s days as it is in ours. The Bible says, “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with me committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due”(Romans 1:26,27).
Homosexuality is considered as acceptable practice by many in our world today – even by some churches but society does not set the standard for God’s law. Many homosexuals believe that their desires are just normal and they have a big right to express themselves and their feelings. God does not oblige nor encourage us to fulfill all our desires (even normal ones). Those desires of us that violated His laws must be controlled and eased.
Many heathen practices are encouraged now and while God is willing to receive anyone who comes to Him in faith and though Christians should love and accept others no matter who they are, where they came from and what they have done. Homosexuality is still strictly forbidden and condemned in the Scriptures. The Bible says, “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.”(Leviciticus 18:22).
“Sodomites” may refer to homosexuals. There are those who attempted to legitimate homosexuality as an acceptable alternative lifestyle. Even some Christians say people have a right to choose their sexual preferences. But the Bible specifically calls homosexual behavior a sin. The Bible says, “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, or adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionists will inherit the Kingdom of God.”(Corinthians 6:9, 10)
God’s plan for natural sexual relationships is His ideal for his creation. Unfortunately, sin distorts the natural use of God’s gifts.
Sin often means not only denying God but also denying the way we are made for this world. When people say that any sexual act is acceptable as long as nobody gets hurt, they are fooling themselves. In the long run, (and often in the short run), sin hurts people – individuals, families and societies.
God hates sin but loves the sinner. We must be careful, however, to condemn only the practice, and not the people. Those who commit homosexual acts are not to be feared, ridiculed or hated. They can be forgiven an their lives can be transformed.
Remember, God can and will forgive sexual sins just as He forgives other sins. Surrender yourself to the grace and mercy of God, asking Him to show you the way out of sin and into the light of His freedom and His love.
The church should be a haven of forgiveness and healing for repentant homosexuals without compromising its stand against homosexual behavior.
If you are already deeply involved in homosexual behavior, seek help from a trustworthy, professional, pastoral counselor. And also don’t forget to call God for help. Repent and just believe and you will see how your life changes. For whoever comes to Him shall receive happy and eternal life.
