GILBEYS

I was in grade four at that time when my uncle came and stayed in our house for some days. My uncle is a drunkard. During his last day in our house he brought a bottle of Gilbeys for himself, since he really needed to go he didn’t consume it all and place it above our dining table and left home. When we are going to eat for dinner I ask my mother who’s the owner of the Gilbeys, and my mother said that my uncle bought it but didn’t consume it all. Because of my curiosity I took the bottle, open it and smell. It was very pleasant to smell, so I decided to take a small amount of it and place it in a small glass. I place some pineapple powdered juice. I dropped some of the mixture in he marching ants. The ants tasted the mixture and for some seconds I feel that the ants were drunk because they walk differently. I was very happy about what I’ve done. While I was laughing like a drain, something came in to my mind. I took the Gilbeys, mixed it with pineapple powdered juice and drink.

As I have remember these are the days that I drink alcoholic beverages: October 29, 2005 the 16^th birthday of my elder sister (Glady Mae Cortes) I drink more than ten shots of GSM, December 5, 2005 my 12^th birthday I also drink more than 10 shots of GSM, December 25, 2004, I drink four shots of red horse. I forgot what the date is but it was December 2005 before New Year, I drink 3 glasses of San Miguel Beer. And because of this kind of habit I became close to the friend of my sister who is studying now in Cebu Institute of Technology. I like her since I also treat her as my sister and she also treat me as her younger sister. And also because of this habit, I don’t know what the reason is but, I always experience stomachache. That’s the reason why I stopped drinking alcoholic beverages.

But, last January 20, 2007 my cousin came because of the “Sinulog Festival”. We bought GSM because my cousin likes to drink GSM. My cousin started to drink and gave the other glass to my father, since my father doesn’t drink , I took the glass and drink it, I can’t stop myself so I continued to drink. When the GSM was consumed, I sat near the door and as I have remembered I vomit all I drink and I experienced headache. I fell asleep and when I woke-up I wash-up and dress-up to attend the procession. (Char!!!)

But now I realize that I shouldn’t drink too much or I should really stop this kind of habit because life is unpredictable. We don’t know maybe after 20 years I may die because of this or maybe I will be a worthless girl always drinking alcoholic beverages while playing “Mahjong” (Never! Over my dead body!) So I should stop all of these before it’s too late.
